Chelsea DiPilla
Operations and Sales Strategist
Chelsea DiPilla helps entrepreneurs turn a vision into a working business. As an Operations and Sales Strategist, she works with restaurant, med spa, luxury spa, and wellness founders during the most demanding stretch of any business: the build. That means opening the doors, hiring and training the team, and putting the systems and sales structures in place that let a business grow. Her approach isn't theory. It comes from 23+ years of doing the work herself.
Where It Started: The Stage
Chelsea's career began in the spotlight, as a professional singer and later as creative director and producer for an entertainment company. Live performance taught her lessons she still uses every day. A great experience depends on preparation and timing. Every person on the team needs to know their part. And when the curtain goes up, the audience should feel the magic, not the work behind it.
Learning the Art of the Opening
Those lessons carried into hospitality. Over a decade in fine dining, Chelsea moved from server to opening team trainer. She joined the opening teams of four fine-dining restaurants, where she trained new staff, set service standards, and helped bring each concept to life. She learned firsthand what it takes to go from an empty dining room to a full house, and how much of that success depends on the team in place before the first guest walks in.
Building in Medical Aesthetics
Chelsea then turned her lifelong interest in skin health into a career in medical aesthetics. She became a licensed aesthetician in three states and a licensed aesthetics instructor. She went on to become Cosmetic Director of a busy dermatology practice, where she helped build and open a second location. She also produced client events that brought in $75,000 in two hours, and grew the practice's cosmetic events by more than 20% every year. Philadelphia Magazine recognized her as one of the city's most sought-after aestheticians. Sitting on an international board for a skin care company, national trainer for an RF-Microneedling company, and brand ambassador. Just as important, she became the person the practice relied on to train staff, launch new services, and keep operations running smoothly.
Building Her Own
While working full time, Chelsea founded I.M. Walrus, an artisan bath, body, and home brand, and grew it from a 200-square-foot basement studio into a 1,500-square-foot retail and event space. She handled every part of the business herself: product formulation and manufacturing, branding, website design, marketing, events, sales, and finances. During that time she also earned her bachelor's degree in Ayurveda Wellness and Integrative Health, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She knows what it means to build something from nothing because she has done it.
Scaling Under Pressure
As Vice President of Operations and Sales for a luxury aromatherapy brand, Chelsea put everything she had learned to work at scale. She grew B2B sales 650% in six months by securing partnerships with leading luxury spa and hospitality brands. She grew the team from 3 to 11 people while opening a second location in another state. She set up the company's CRM, inventory, and payroll systems and built its HR department from the ground up. She also proved her strength in crisis management: when unexpected disaster struck, she stabilized operations, protected her team's jobs, and relaunched the company under a new brand in 30 days, all during the peak holiday season.
What She Does Now
Today, Chelsea brings all of that experience to two kinds of business owners: founders who are building from scratch, and established businesses that have hit a bottleneck and need to step back and see the bigger picture in order to grow.
For businesses getting started, she helps:
Plan and manage openings, from setup and operations to launch-day readiness
Recruit, onboard, and train teams that deliver a consistent customer experience from day one
Put the right systems in place early, including booking, CRM, inventory, payroll, and HR
Plan launch events that bring the community through the door
For established businesses ready to grow, she helps:
Find the bottlenecks that slow the team down and limit revenue
Streamline operations and update systems the business has outgrown
Strengthen sales structures, including memberships, retail, and partnerships, to raise revenue
Retrain and realign teams around clear standards and growth goals
Whether a business is opening its doors or ready for its next chapter, she works alongside owners and their teams, not over them, so nothing falls through the cracks.
Many Hands Make Light Work
Chelsea believes no one should have to build a business alone. Building one is hard, and every founder deserves an experienced partner who has been through the late nights, the opening-day nerves, and the growing pains. Her role is to be one more set of skilled, steady hands, so owners can focus on their vision while the foundation gets built.
Every business has an opening night. Let's make sure yours is a great one.
